Saris Cycling Group, in cooperation with the CPSC, is recalling about 2,000 CycleOps Pro Series Trainer models from the 2009 model year. A handle pin on the bicycle trainer can loosen during use, causing the machine to become disengaged from the bike, which poses a fall hazard to consumers. Saris has not received any reports of injuries.
This recall involves CycleOps Pro Series Trainer models 9014 (SuperMagneto Pro), 9331 (JetFluid Pro), 9460 (PowerBeam Pro), 9321 (JetFluid Pro Winter Training Kit) and the 9322 (SuperMagneto Pro Winter Training Kit) without the secondary locking pin. The model number and style names are printed on the left side of the main frame of the trainer. Other CycleOps Trainers are NOT included in the recall.
The recalled trainers were sold nationwide from October 2008 through November 2008 for between $400 and $1,200. They were all manufactured in the United States. Consumers should stop riding these trainers immediately and contact Saris Cycling Group. Saris will provide a free replacement trainer in exchange for your current one. Contact Saris at 800-783-7257 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, visit the Saris Web site at www.cycleops.com, or e-mail them at firstname.lastname@example.org.
